When trained your clerks can handle it without too much diffuculty, and it's nice to have a thermal printer. It's touch screen is a little "touchy" (pun intended), and it is easy to press the wrong key if you aren't paying attention or if you have long nails. My female clerks have had trouble with it, although the men didn't seem to have a problem. It is somewhat limited due to it's designers inability to forsee real world applications other than restaurant or a narrow range of retail uses. For example, it has no "minus" or "negative" function to back out voids, once the sale is rung you must correct any voids by hand. Further, all the programming instructions and examples revolve around preset pricing, and Royal support is NONEXISTENT. They repeated to me exactly what was on the manuals and after I told them that I had already read them they told me that there was nothing else they could do for me. I kept calling and each different person that I talked to pretty much told me the same thing. To this day I have not been able to get the kitchen printer to work and no one from this company has been able to help me fix this problem. |
