Shame the middle hand piece looks like cheap plastice-this could have been bake-a-lite or carved wood for the price. Also, it rings like a modern phone. Wish it had the option to have authintice old-fashioned ring tone. I got the brass because I felt that if it got knocked off the table it would not break like the less expesive porscelan modles. Otherwise it works very well and is also great to have in addition to my portable in case of power outages since it does not need batteries.
