I originally thought that I would use it for scanning pictures but now I use it for almost everything imagineable. It's so light weight and portable that it goes everywhere with me. The nice thing is no computer connection is necessary and it's self powered. I scan receipts immediately right from my truck. Once a week I thake the memory card out and copy all scans to my computer. I now have copies of every transaction on my computer. I scan bills, invoices, most of my mail. This is the best tool/toy that I've bought in years. I have a very good OCR program that I use to convert many of the scans to documents that can be edited.
