It arrived in 3 well packed boxes. I did take the time to read the instruction manual first and I recommend you do the same.Assembly and set up was easy. There are many ways to align this telescope. I chose quick align so I could start playing with the controller. Don't worry about messing something up just get familiar with it. I then used the utility "factory settings" to reset everything back to the way it was out of the box. I then chose the alignment procedure and all the options I wanted to use and set them up correctly this time. The telescope tracks beautifully and the view is stunning. You will be very pleased with this telescope. The equatorial mount , which contains all the functionality, comes with an extra dovetail mounting plate. With the 6SE being an Alt-Azi mount, I was unable to attempt any type of long exposure astrophotography. When I upgraded to the C6-S Advanced, all of that changed. This telescope and mount is amazing. After the easy alignment and calibration, it finds and tracks objects in the sky like a blood hound on steroids!!!! The optics are crystal clear, and the go to equatorial mount is just great (a little loud when slewing) but great. This package also comes with an extra dovetail mount in case you want to strap another telescope to it. After a little fine tuning, this mount performs miracles. Overall this is a fantastic piece of equipment. My only suggestion is for Celestron to include an AC adapter instead of only a DC car adapter. After reading the manual a few times it is an easy scope to set-up, relatively easy. The first night out my dad and me viewed the Orion Nebula and the view was breath taking. Even with the low power EP color popped out and the general shape of the nebula was obvious. Jupiter was just as spectacular with the 4 galilean moons and several bands easily being seen. The Andromeda galaxy is even visible at a higher magnification. I just bought a polar alignment scope for it and used it for the first time the other night and it makes aligning a sinch. I have been doing astrophotography for awhile now and this scope delivers great pictures even with the mid-range tri-pod. I am in the process of buying a guiding camera and scope to make the tracking even better.
