I've tried a number of solutions for scanning slides and B&W and color negatives (including an HP Scanjet 4050 which others have highly rated.) The worst 7250u scan looks better than the best of others I've tried. The 3600 and 7200 DPI scans are awesome! Digital ICE is a life-saver on old media! The included software works very well but could use a little user interface tweaking in an upgrade. If you want high quality scans at an affordable price, I don't think you can beat this scanner. This review is from: Pacific Image PrimeFilm 7250u for Windows and Mac (Electronics) After spending hours and hours and dollars trying flatbed Photo Scanners with slide adapters (both Epson and HP) to scan my slide collection onto DVDs so that I can view them on my TV, I finally found the answer. Thanks to Amazon and people like Brent Williams, Luis and FFT. They were exactly right, the worst scan with the 7250u was way better than the best scan with my HP G4010. The HP is an excellent scanner but the 7250u was designed specifically to scan slides and negatives. For the person like me that wants to scan their slides onto DVDs, this is the way to go.
